Pension Grindul Lupilor Grindul Lupilor Pension has been opened during summer 2008 and has an excellent positioning, being the entrance gate towards the sand bank with the same name. If you are willing for a trip into bank`s thicket or fishing into the waters of neighboring channels and lakes, then note that it is almost impossible not to observe Grindul Lupilor Pension and not to wish for a break, no matter how short, inside it.

Grindul Lupilor (Wolves Sand Bank) means also an entire range of activities for relaxation: sun bathing, fishing, you can observe the birds, the fauna and flora, there can be organized trips and expeditions, you can visit the sand banks, you can make strolls by ATVs and gigs, you can spend nights into the middle of the wildness near the light of the camp fire, and not at last, you can hunt.

The position of Grindul Lupilor, in the Southern extremity of Danube Delta, offers a drier continental climate, influenced by the Black Sea. The average yearly temperature is over 10 Celsius degrees, being the highest on the territory of Romania. During summer the territory of the area is invaded by tropical air which brings drought and heat. During winter, there are present masses of sub-polar continental air, but sometimes there can be also present from Southern part masses of warmer air, which lead to an early spring.


  • at South, the locality Istria and then, towards East, Histria citadel and museum;
  • at East, Sinoe lake;
  • at North-East, Razim lake, Golovita lake and Zmeica lake;
  • at South-West, at 30 km far, the locality Cheia with Cheile Dobrogei mountainous formations (former coral reefs of Thetis sea). Here there can be visited "Sf.Ioan Casian" and "Pestera Liliecilor" caves (named also "Adam"s Grotto"). In this area there are numerous routes for mountain climbing, provided with pinions and bearing their numbers and degree of difficultness in the lower part.
  • at North, at 30 km far, Babadag city (Turkish name - Father"s Mountain). In the center of the city there are Ali Gaza-Pasa Mosque and Kalaigi drinking fountain. Another touristic objective is the Oriental Art Museum, hosted inside "Panaghia" building. At 8 km far from Babadag, near Enisala, there can be seen the ruins of Heracleea citadel, a Genovese citadel from the XIIth century. At 5 km far towards Tulcea there can be found the ruins of a Roman fortress from the IVth-Vth centuries b.c...;
  • at North-West, at 30-40 km far, the villages Slava Rusa, Slava Cercheza, Ciucurova;
